| About our Fine Art
Our fine art covers everything from landscapes to nudes, portraits to abstract
art. Many of the pieces speak for the artist on issues important to women, the
environment and other subjects of interest to her. For those of you who are
interested in angel art, you will also be able to find some pieces here. Many of
KnockOut Design Gallery fine art pieces contain symbolism which the artist also
uses as a voice. If you go to our artist's statement page you will learn more
about the symbolism in the art that you will see here. Much of the art you
will find in our art gallery is uplifting, the viewing of which will make the
viewer feel happy, or as some have reported, at peace. Some pieces however, are
evidence of the artist's darker moods or speak to the darker side of human
nature. The artist feels that if we failed to show you these pieces it would be
dishonest, as it would only show you part of who Kim O'Connor, the artist is.
As you stroll through our gallery you will find that the artist has been
influenced by the Arizona desert of her birthplace and home, and by the artists
whose work she has studied or viewed throughout her life. While studying art at
Arizona State University, Kim developed a love of the nude female form as an art
subject. You'll see evidence of this in the nudes which she uses to explore
feminist issues. You will also see Kim's love of the beautiful colors and
shapes of nature as evidenced by the series of flowers, among other pieces,
which she is painting as an homage to Georgia O'Keeffe and her feminist artistic
commentary.
KnockOut design gallery hopes to soon be able to offer to you, our patrons,
giclee prints and posters of some of our fine art pieces. If the stars are
aligned right this could happen in the near future, so keep your fingers
crossed. In the meantime, if you would like to know more about giclee prints,
please go to our FAQs page.
You'll also find the other items that the artist felt like creating in our objet
d'art section. This could be a piece of ceramics which the artist felt like
painting or a beautiful piece of batik that the artist created because the mood
struck to paint on silk. Who knows, tomorrow she may feel compelled to create a
mosaic tabletop. It is in this section that you will also find our gift shop
items into which the artist has incorporated her art, believing that even every
day objects should be beautiful.
The artist is always seeking new media and new ways to use the media she has
already mastered, so what is available at the KnockOut Design Gallery will
always be expanding. Remember to check back often to find out what's new.
The artist is currently taking commissions of fine art pieces. Please go to our
Contact page if you are interested in commissioning a piece of a fine art in
oil, watercolor, chalk or some other medium.
We hope you enjoy your visit to the KnockOut Design Gallery. Please come again
soon.
